This university prep course is designed to build the essential academic skills you need to succeed in higher education. You’ll strengthen your grammar and academic vocabulary to write and speak more clearly and accurately. Through focused practice in reading, you’ll learn to skim, scan, and understand complex texts more effectively. You’ll also develop your communication skills by participating in discussions, improving your listening and speaking, and learning how to give confident, well-structured presentations. Each component works together to help you feel fully prepared for the challenges of university study.

Essay Writing

In this course, you’ll learn how to plan and write effective academic essays — a key skill for success at university. We’ll break down the process step by step, from understanding the question and structuring your ideas to writing strong introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions. You’ll also learn how to support your arguments with evidence and develop your own academic voice. In addition, you will practice how to properly cite your sources, so that you will never have issues with accidentally plagiarizing.

Grammar

Grammar is an essential part of clear academic writing. We’ll take an in-depth look at sentence structure, verb tenses, punctuation, and common errors that can affect your clarity and accuracy. You’ll learn how to write with greater precision and develop a more formal, academic tone — helping you express complex ideas more effectively.
