Do you like waffles? Today, you will learn how to make delicious waffles and practice your English! Let’s learn new words, read a recipe, and even talk about waffles in a short fun conversation.

🍴 2. Simple Waffle Recipe (Step-by-Step)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour (can use whole wheat)

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups milk

  • ½ cup melted butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In one bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.

Important! (Don't add the eggs to the warm butter!!!)

  1. Pour the wet mixture into the dry. Mix with a whisk.

  2. Heat the waffle iron.

  3. Use a ladle to pour batter onto the waffle iron. Be careful, not too much batter! It will make a mess!

  4. Cook until golden brown.

  5. If you're making a few waffles like I did, preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C), and add the waffles to the oven to stay warm! (See first picture above.)

  6. Serve with syrup, fruit, or yogurt!
